Frequently Asked Questions.

  • What is WoolWax® undercoating?

WoolWax® is a lanolin-based rust protection system designed to protect vehicles from corrosion caused by road salt, moisture, and harsh winter conditions. Unlike rubberized or asphalt coatings, WoolWax® remains flexible and penetrates seams, crevices, and cavities where rust commonly starts.

  • How is WoolWax® different from traditional undercoating?

Traditional undercoatings often harden, crack, or seal moisture underneath once damaged. WoolWax®:

    • Remains flexible

    • Does not crack or peel

    • Creeps into seams and cavities

    • Does not trap moisture

    • Provides long-term protection with reduced maintenance

  • How long does WoolWax® undercoating last?

We offer multiple WoolWax® systems designed for long-term protection:

Foundation Package: 5 years of underbody protection

Advanced Package: 5 years of underbody + cavity protection

Ultimate Package: Up to 10 years of underbody + cavity protection

Longevity depends on driving conditions, mileage, and environmental exposure. Periodic inspections are recommended.

  • Does WoolWax® come with a warranty?

Yes. Our WoolWax® packages are warranty-backed when inspection and maintenance guidelines are followed. Warranty details vary by package and are provided at the time of service.

  • How often do I need to come back for inspections or touch-ups?

We recommend a professional inspection every 18–24 months to ensure optimal performance.

If touch-ups are needed, they are available for $75, which covers material costs and helps maintain long-term protection.

  • Will tax be added to my final bill?

All of our pricing is out the door pricing and has sales tax included

  • What areas of the vehicle are protected?

Depending on the package selected, protection may include:

    • Exposed underbody surfaces

    • Frame rails

    • Rocker panels

    • Seams and pinch welds

    • Doors and enclosed cavities

    • High-impact and high-exposure areas

  • What is “Creep ‘N’ Crawl,” and why is it important?

WoolWax® Creep ‘N’ Crawl is designed to penetrate deep into seams, joints, and enclosed cavities. These hidden areas are where rust often begins and are commonly missed by basic undercoating services.

  • Does WoolWax® harden or dry like rubberized coatings?

No. WoolWax® does not harden or cure like rubberized or asphalt-based coatings. It remains pliable, allowing it to self-heal minor disruptions and continue protecting over time.

  • Will WoolWax® trap moisture or cause rust?

No. WoolWax® is moisture-displacing, meaning it helps prevent water from settling on metal surfaces rather than sealing it underneath.

  • Is WoolWax® safe for new vehicles?

Yes. WoolWax® is safe for new and used vehicles and does not damage factory coatings, rubber components, wiring, or brake lines.

  • Can WoolWax® be applied to vehicles with existing rust?

Yes. WoolWax® can help slow the progression of existing surface rust, but it does not reverse or repair structural corrosion.

  • Does the undercoating have an odor?

A mild odor may be present immediately after application but typically dissipates within a short period. Proper ventilation helps speed this process.

  • How long does the appointment take?

Appointment time varies by vehicle size and package selected, but most undercoating services are completed within 1.5-4 Hours

  • Can WoolWax® be applied year-round?

Yes. WoolWax® can be applied year-round.

  • Will undercoating affect future repairs or service work?

WoolWax® does not prevent routine maintenance or repairs. Technicians may notice a protective film, but it does not damage components.

  • Is WoolWax® environmentally safe?

WoolWax® is lanolin-based and free from harsh solvents, making it a safer alternative to many petroleum-based undercoating products.

    • Better adhesion

    • Consistent coverage

    • Maximum longevity
