Undercoating Care Guide
Keep the protection where it belongs. The right cleaning and inspection routine depends on the coating applied to your vehicle.
Start here
First: check which coating you have
- Check your invoice or pickup notes for the product name. Original lanolin-based Woolwax stays soft; a hard-shell coating has a different cure and cleaning process.
- Until you have confirmed the product and its care instructions, skip automatic undercarriage washes, pressure washing underneath, and strong degreasers.
- Keep your installation date and product details with this guide. If they are missing, contact our team so we can confirm the correct care routine.
Cleaning and ongoing checks
- For original lanolin-based Woolwax, do not try to remove the soft, oily feel. That non-drying layer is intentional. If needed, rinse gently with a garden hose instead of stripping the coating.
- For a hard-shell or curing product, follow its stated cure time before washing or exposing it to cleaners. A dry-looking surface does not prove it has fully cured.
- Check high-exposure areas after winter, off-road use, or work underneath the vehicle. Tell your mechanic the vehicle is coated, and ask us about worn or disturbed areas.
- Arrange an inspection or touch-up based on your product, mileage, and driving conditions. There is no single reapplication interval that fits every coating.
Something does not look right?
Contact us if you see bare areas, peeling on a hard-shell coating, or protection removed during repairs. Send photos and your product name if available. We can help determine whether an inspection or touch-up is needed.
